Dear Colleagues
The congress is to close the gap between basic and clinical research for the benefit of our patients. This is only to be achieved through an intensive interdisciplinary cross talk between clinicians and basic scientists. The IFSS is a perfect platform to reach that goal. An extensive exchange will be achieved through symposia, plenary lectures, workshops and most importantly poster sessions that allow young investigators to present and discuss their recent results.For the translation of research into clinically useful strategies and tools, innovative industrial partners are essential. The meeting will therefore be accompanied by an industrial exhibition of the pharmaceutical and medical device industry.
The congress will be held at the Gürzenich Convention Centre in the city centre of Cologne, only a few minutes from the main railway station and twenty minutes from International Airport Cologne/Bonn. Cologne is a city with 2000 years of history that has remained young at heart. You will experience an energetic and welcoming city with out-going and warm-hearted people.
