| 09:00 - 12:30 | Go West - Shopping and Culture - A stroll to shops with curious and remarkable assortment to traditional Cologne shops, to artworks and to splendid buildings You know the image of Cologne as the city with its world-renowned Cathedral, the Romanesque Churches and the great museums. At this stroll you will experience more. We will show you shops with products manufactured by their own or you will see shops with a long lasting tradition in the city. Also department stores such as the “Kaufhof” which dominates the cityscape in the shopping center will be shown. Nearby stands the modern counterpart. It is a building by Renzo Piano named “Cosmopolitan Department Store”. Not far away, at Neumarkt a sculpture by Claes Oldenburg is the eye catcher on top of a big store. It shows a cone crashed on top of the corner of the building. Further on you will visit the “Concept Store” in Mittelstrasse where you can have a break with a cup of coffee.
